⏰ We started by implementing the product with our customers. We offered a 21-day free trial. Even the setup was included for free. Here are the observations we have made with our clients, SMEs with 5 to 100 employees: 💃 People were using the guest network to download pornographic content! Yes, not just one but several guests did this practice. We discovered this thanks to the Cisco Umbrella block. 🆘 One of our customers who tried the solution realized that one of their employees was downloading illegally via Torrent. Neither the antivirus nor the firewall blocked the behavior. Umbrella detected the illegal behavior and blocked all ongoing BitTorrent connections. 🐜 Another customer discovered that one of his employees had hidden an AntMiner (a BitCoin miner). The employee generated BitCoins without having to pay the hefty electric bill. Umbrella blocked the connections and provided us with the IP address of the machine. It was easy to find the location of the machine using Cisco Meraki tools. 🚷 The best experience was a cyber attack foiled by Umbrella. A hacker had broken into an employee’s computer. It tried to encrypt disk data to demand ransom. Cisco Umbrella blocked the connection but even better, it sent me an email to notify me that my client was attacked. When I arrived at the client, the computer was open with error messages: “Cannot Connect to server. » Umbrella had prevented the connection to the hacker’s computer. No data could be encrypted or sent to the hacker. 💸 One of my clients called me to complain that he could not deposit an Interac e-transfer from one of his clients. After verification, Umbrella blocked the phishing website. It was a fake Interac email transfer. These are just 5 examples of the power of hashtag#Cisco hashtag#Umbrella.
